The Fabrication Specialist B position requires regular and predictable attendance. You will perform machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication, extrusion, tube bending, and fabrication tasks. Additionally, you will be responsible for composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly tasks, assembling precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components, and modifying and installing various power plants and drive trains. The role includes soldering on electronic and avionics products, assembling and installing wire harnesses and avionics products, preparing test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for various tests, and performing basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. You will apply routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements and work on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform metals/composite assembly tasks, including drilling, fastening, sealing, and electrical bonding.
- Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
- Perform basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.
- Apply routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
- Perform machine set-up, machining, and metal fabrication tasks.
- Work on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.
- This position requires working 100 onsite.
Essential Skills- 3+ months of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.
- Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Lean Principles such as Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, and 5-S tools.
- Experience managing or working with safety, quality, and manufacturing performance data.

Work Environment
This role is set in a manufacturing environment that can be loud at times. It requires collaboration with others and maintaining a clean work station. Successful completion of one week of classroom training is required. The position offers flexibility with shifts, requiring availability for both 1st and 2nd shifts. Out-of-state candidates are welcome but must relocate at their own expense.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
