Contract Position
$48.50-$53.50/Hour

Responsibilities:
As a FPGA / Embedded Applications Systems Engineer for Undersea Maritime Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for product design from system architecture and requirements allocation and design qualification for FPGA and Embedded Software Applications.
- Lead system architecture, requirements allocation, and design qualification for FPGA and embedded software applications in support of product development
- Support full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, definition, modeling, and traceability
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define and refine FPGA and embedded software design requirements
- Contribute to the design and qualification of electrical and optical systems
- Develop embedded application documentation including functional block diagrams, state and data flow diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), and interface design descriptions (IDDs)
- Execute and document embedded application unit test cases and related objective quality evidence (OQE)
- Manage requirements lifecycle and support the transition of new products to manufacturing
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies where appropriate
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field; or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance within a reasonable amount of time is required
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant systems engineering experience (or 3 with a Master’s degree)
- Proficient understanding of systems engineering principles and technical standards
- Experience with requirements management and system modeling tools.
- Strong experience in requirements allocation and decomposition for FPGA and embedded systems
- Familiarity with the full embedded systems development lifecycle, from architecture through validation
- Exposure to new product development and manufacturing transition.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Background in electrical/optical system design and qualification
- Proficiency in developing detailed embedded application artifacts (block diagrams, state/data flow diagrams, ICDs, IDDs)
- Understanding of requirements lifecycle management tools such as DOORS or Jama
