Morson are recruiting a Quality Assurance Engineer to support a leading maritime defence organisation within a hands-on manufacturing quality environment. This role is focused on shopfloor engagement, ensuring quality standards are maintained across production and driving continuous improvement across complex engineering products.
This position suits engineers with strong NCR ownership, root cause analysis experience, and a proactive approach to resolving manufacturing quality issues in regulated industries.

About the Role
Location: Loudwater
Industry: Maritime Defence / Manufacturing Quality
You will join a Quality team supporting manufacturing operations across a range of advanced maritime products, working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on quality assurance support across manufacturing operations
- Maintain and follow control plans and inspection plans
- Own and manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process from identification through to resolution
- Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys and similar methodologies
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement
- Conduct and support internal audits, ensuring adherence to quality standards and processes
- Produce accurate quality reports and provide clear updates to stakeholders
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality
- Promote a right-first-time culture and continuous improvement mindset on the shopfloor
Requirements
- Experience in a Manufacturing Quality or Production Quality environment — essential
- Strong experience managing NCR processes and corrective actions
- Proven use of root cause tools such as 8D and 5 Whys
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, shopfloor-focused role
- Experience supporting or delivering internal audits
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Background in Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics or Medical Devices — desirable
- Experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical manufacturing — desirable
- Knowledge of quality documentation and reporting best practices — desirable
- Eligibility and willingness to undergo SC clearance — mandatory
