Position Summary:
The Chief Inspector is responsible for overseeing the inspection program and ensuring all aircraft maintenance performed by Columbia Air Services meets FAA regulatory requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company standards. The role provides leadership for the inspection team, manages quality control processes, and ensures compliance with Part 145 Repair Station and Part 135 operational requirements, with a strong focus on Daher TBM aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance & Oversight
- Ensure all maintenance, repairs, and alterations are performed in accordance with FAA
- Regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and company policies.
- Maintain the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, and other required manuals (Including revisions as required)
- Coordinate with FAA representatives during annual surveillance.
- Overseeing other company departments including parts and avionics to ensure compliance with Repair station manual procedures and applicable FAR’s.
- Ensuring all precision tools and equipment are used when applicable and properly maintained and calibrated.
Inspection & Documentation:
- Perform and/or supervise incoming, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft, and components.
- Ensure all inspection records, logbooks, work orders, and supporting documentation are accurate and complete.
- Issue and sign maintenance releases, airworthiness approvals, and return-to-service authorizations as applicable.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead and mentor inspection and quality control staff.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel regarding inspection standards and airworthiness requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Implement best practices in quality assurance and safety.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or non-compliance issues quickly and effectively.
- Participate in internal audits and corrective action programs.
