Position SummaryThe Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of automated production equipment. This role is heavily focused on mechanical systems such as conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and motors, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced environment.
Primary ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, belts, chains, and couplings
Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) including lubrication, alignment, tensioning, and inspections
Support installation, alignment, and mechanical setup of new or modified equipment
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly prints
Use diagnostic tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, and alignment tools
Perform basic electrical checks when needed and escalate complex issues
Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS systems
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve reliability
Follow all safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, and site-specific protocols
Required Skills & Experience1–3 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance or industrial troubleshooting experience
Strong mechanical knowledge of:
Bearings, gearboxes, and motors
Conveyors, belts, and chains
Hydraulics and pneumatics (basic level)
Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions
Comfortable using hand tools and mechanical diagnostic tools
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred QualificationsExperience in automated manufacturing or distribution environments
Familiarity with CMMS systems
Exposure to basic electrical systems or controls
Experience with alignment tools or condition monitoring (vibration, thermography)
OSHA certification, forklift, or lift equipment experience
Work EnvironmentIndustrial/production environment with automated equipment
Requires standing, bending, climbing, and working around machinery
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work in tight or elevated spaces
PPE required at all times

Pay Details: $32.00 to $35.00 per hour
