Job Title: TIG Welder – 1st Shift
Job DescriptionThis role focuses on precision TIG welding for aviation component repair within a certified maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment. You will perform high-quality welds on aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium parts to support the repair and overhaul of commercial, regional, and general aviation components in compliance with stringent industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium components used in aviation applications.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to complete welding tasks accurately.
- Meet and maintain AWS D17.1 welding requirements on applicable materials and thicknesses.
- Weld on material thicknesses ranging from 0.025 inches to 0.090 inches with consistent quality and precision.
- Pass and maintain proficiency in TIG welding tests, including welding on 14-gauge (0.063 inch) aluminum material.
- Inspect welds visually and dimensionally to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and aviation regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production and repair teams to support timely completion of aviation component repairs.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in the repair shop.
- Document work performed as required by repair station procedures and regulatory standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance welding processes and product quality.
Essential Skills- 3–5 years of experience in TIG welding in a production or similar environment.
- Proficiency in TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium materials.
- Ability to meet and pass AWS D17.1 welding requirements on aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium.
- Demonstrated ability to weld material thicknesses between 0.025 inches and 0.090 inches.
- Capability to successfully complete a TIG welding test on 14-gauge (0.063 inch) aluminum material.
- Experience working with blueprints and technical drawings to perform welding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds suitable for aerospace applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a production environment and meet established schedules and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Previous experience welding aluminum components in aerospace or other high-specification industries.
- Familiarity with aviation component repair processes and standards.
- Exposure to certified repair environments such as FAA, EASA, CAAC, or CAAS approved facilities.
- Experience working in a structured MRO or manufacturing setting with defined quality and safety procedures.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with technicians, inspectors, and production staff.

Work Environment
The role is based in an aviation repair station that spans multiple buildings and supports a wide range of aircraft component repair and overhaul activities. You will work in an air-conditioned and heated repair shop designed to maintain a comfortable and controlled environment for precision welding. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 3:30 p.m. to midnight, supporting a structured shift operation. The facility operates under regulated aviation standards, using specialized welding and inspection equipment appropriate for aerospace components, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and adherence to formal procedures.
