Position Summary
The Production Manager of the site works to achieve operational production performance objectives with a strong focus on safety, customer service (OTP, OTR, Late Backlog & RPPM), productivity, and continuous improvement.He manages the production team to enable them to achieve operational excellence and enhance the customer experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
Observe and improve the safety and health conditions of the workshop. Communicate and promote a zero accident safety culture throughout the workshop.
Lead the deployment of the operational strategy and Lean methodology.
Manage production activities to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
Analyze and improve production organization to optimize overall efficiency.
Prepare monthly S&OP data to adjust sales, resources, and capacities. (with Material Leader)
Provide weekly flash update data to the site manager.
Review daily workshop KPIs (Safety, OTP-OTR, Quality, Absorption, Backlog, and Late Backlog), direct actions accordingly in case of deviations from targets, and report important information to the site manager.
Review and manage monthly KPIs on the VSTC to decide and define, together with the Process & Lean manager, the main annual transformations of the workshop.
Ensure operators have the appropriate resources and skills.
Be responsible for the social climate of the workshop and report to the site manager.
Provide leadership by promoting team concepts (HPT), coaching, advising, retention, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development. Foster a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.
Ensure that customer dates (manufacturing Day to Day +5) are communicated in the backlog and constantly updated.
Education & Experience
Ideal candidate has 6 or more years of experience in Operations Management, with at least 4 or more years of experience in a leadership role
Previous work experience ideally includes experience in business and operational processes
University degree
Any additionnal experience in Lean, Process or quality is would be a real asset that can make a difference
Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking)
Skills & Competencies
Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper opportunities
Must have functional understanding of cost accounting and adopt to practical application
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts (French & English)
Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices
