At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join the Manufacturing Engineering team as the Technical Lead for the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Effectors area. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to address complex challenges, enhance manufacturing processes, translate design requirements into actionable solutions, and lead continuous improvement efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure production objectives are met while maintaining a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and safety. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to junior team members, providing guidance, sharing best practices, and fostering technical growth within the team.

As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will contribute to supporting a wide range of manufacturing and development programs at Raytheon. Our work focuses on advanced electronic hardware for radar, missile, and combat systems. Located in Andover, MA, our state-of-the-art facility spans over 1.7 million square feet, dedicated to assembling and testing high-performance products.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the technical lead for the CCA assembly process, addressing production issues, resolving complex challenges, and driving process optimization, cost reduction, and cycle time improvement.

  • Translate engineering design requirements into actionable solutions, including the development and maintenance of detailed manufacturing process documentation, and guide junior team members in documentation best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams— Operations, Design, Test, Manufacturing, and Quality—to ensure seamless communication, integration of design requirements, and alignment on production goals.

  • Lead corrective action investigations by dispositioning discrepant hardware, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive measures, mentoring less experienced engineers in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, including contributing to process improvement initiatives and specialized tooling development (e.g., jigs, fixtures, and packaging), while coaching junior team members to actively participate in improvement projects.

  • Drive a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and safety, coordinating across disciplines and suppliers to ensure best practices are upheld in all aspects of manufacturing operations.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically Requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience

  • Technical experience in electronics manufacturing processes, including knowledge of production techniques, quality control, and industry standards for electronic components and systems.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with related military and industry standards and specifications.

  • Expertise in dispositioning non-conforming material, including root cause and corrective action analysis.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience in specialized tooling development (e.g., jigs, fixtures, specialized packaging).

  • Knowledge and application of CORE continuous improvement principles and techniques.

  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to contribute both individually and in a team setting.

  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and knowledge sharing.

  • Proven written and oral communication skills.

  • About You:

  • You thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and are committed to achieving shared goals. You have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. You bring an innovative approach to problem-solving and take pride in driving improvements that matter. You are adaptable and eager to learn, with the ability to excel in a dynamic environment.
