Job Description
The Power Plant Repair Mechanic is a member of the maintenance team responsible for performing repairs on power plant equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintenance repairs on power plant equipment
- Power Plant mechanical work includes turbines, boilers,
- condensers, generators, heat exchangers and power plant related equipment.
- Work includes assemble, disassemble, repair and adjust all types of auxiliary equipment.
- Additional work includes dismantle and reassemble boilers and steam turbine generators during inspection.
- Maintain a safe work environment by observing and following all safety standards and procedures; complying with OSHA and General Electric standards.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements :- High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED).
- 2 years of general mechanical, machine repair, and troubleshooting experience.
- Requires knowledge of the operations of mechanical equipment and machinery utilized in a power plant or heating facility.
- Must be able to establish, maintain, and understand mechanical problems and repair procedures.
- Must be able to use mechanical tools and equipment.
- Ability to work from drawings and schematic diagrams, read and interpret complex technical manuals, materials, blue prints as well as use shop math.

- Ability to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 30 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodations)
- Ability to work in confined areas, work off ladders, platforms and heights

Desired Characteristics
- Massachusetts Power Plant License or prior work experience in a power plant.
- Five years of experience in mechanical diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience working in an industrial and manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with industrial and Massachusetts regulations.
- Have knowledge and understanding of safety rules in an industrial setting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Possess strong mechanical abilities.
- Solid understanding of computers & technology, with the willingness to use application software and troubleshoot problems.
The pay for this position is 37/hr. This posting is expected to close on 12/31/2026.
