The role:
We’re looking for a Technical Publications Officer to join our Triton Engineering team, supporting the RAAF Triton program. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring aircraft maintenance documentation is accurate, compliant and fit for purpose in the Australian operating environment.
You’ll review and tailor United States Navy (USN) Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), adapting them to suit Australian configuration, role and environment requirements. This includes identifying maintenance inspection needs, local support and test equipment, and ensuring compliance with Australian WHS and DASR standards.
Working closely with engineers, subject matter experts and customers, you’ll research, develop and update technical manuals, translate complex engineering information into clear and practical documentation, and manage publication changes through to approval. Your work will directly support safe, efficient aircraft maintenance and ongoing operational availability.
About you:
You’re a detail oriented technical professional who enjoys turning complex information into clear, user friendly documentation. You’re confident working with engineering and maintenance teams, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and take pride in delivering high quality work to deadlines.
You’ll bring:
- An NV1 AGSVA security clearance is essential to this role
- Experience developing and authoring technical publications, ideally in an aviation or regulated environment
- Strong written English skills and the ability to produce clear, logical maintenance procedures
- High proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat (FrameMaker experience highly regarded)
- Experience working with IETMs in S1000D format and knowledge of Defence publication and DASR requirements
- The curiosity and persistence to research information that isn’t always easy to find
- The ability to collaborate across teams, customers and international stakeholders
An aviation or relevant industry qualification, MSG 3/RCM exposure, and hands on maintenance or inspection experience are highly desirable.
